Gas prices might seem like a never-ending beating to your wallet, but the stats tell a different story. Since 2012, gas prices have been decreasing, and in 2016 the average price of gas in the United States was $2.14 — that’s the lowest it’s been since 2004. Diesel prices have also hit a new low. Back in 2014, diesel was almost $4.00 a gallon, but in 2016 diesel varied anywhere from $1.98 to $2.47.
However, even with the lowest gas prices in over a decade, fleet managers of rental trucks are still feeling the financial pinch.
