How to Make the Most of Gas Mileage

Making the most of gas mileage is important; gas isn’t cheap like it used to be. And if you’re driving a rental truck, you probably don’t want to put too much of your own money into the tank. Luckily, there are measures you can take to reduce your trips to the pump and save your wallet.
First, make sure the tires are properly inflated. Underinflated tires will cause the truck to use extra gas.
Second, resist that lead foot. Accelerating takes gas. When you’re pressing the pedal to metal, you’re wasting gas.
Third, ditch unneeded cargo. Loading up your truck’s bed will add to its weight and decrease wind resistance. If you’re hauling around equipment you don’t need, you can save gas by taking it out.
